Sax In The City
Hello from Me!
I will keep this short and sweet as I am sure you really just want to get on with the nitty gritty and get playing.
I have been teaching Saxophone for around 16 years, to both adults and children alike. I started playing the saxophone in an adult group in college, many years ago! Over the years education has changed, and Saxophone classes got stopped in favour of qualifications and left the people that wanted to play just for fun, for themselves with no where to learn.
This is why I started up the Saxophone groups. The groups are kept small an average of 8 players. As adults we have a lot of commitments and not as much time for ourselves so groups are run for fun in a relaxed social atmosphere... the only pressure is what you put on yourself... you will progress whether you practice once a week or once a day, ideally once a day would be perfect but thats not always possible these days. As long as you do what you can then I am happy with that. I find adults actually learn better in groups. Its great to watch a group start to bond and gradually begin to help each other out. Many meet up and practice at each

others house. I encourage you to play beyond your ability!!!! What do I mean by that? Its simple if you like the piece of music try it, you can still learn it, albeit slowly but you will still learn. The idea of playing your favourite piece of music is enough to make you practice and then practice again.
I would say that about 75% of my Saxophone students are retired and the remaining in the 30-55 age group. The oldest person I have taught who never played an instrument in his life was 93 and he loved every minute of it! So as they say you are never to late to learn, you just learn at your own pace. If you ask anyone I am probably the craziest, most laid back teacher you will ever meet! All I can tel you is I LOVE what I do, I love watching people achieve their goals and their faces when they do. Its not a job to me, its a pleasure and I love every minute of it.
My teaching takes place in my studio in Havant, which has ample onsite parking.
So why not come down and see how much fun we have!
